CfCP Research
areas include theoretical, observational, and experimental cosmology:
- Formation of large-scale structure in the early Universe
- The Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB)
- Characterization of the dark energy and dark matter in the
universe
- Understanding the possible role of an inflationary period
in the early universe
- Probing particle interactions at high energies with astrophysical
phenomena

Opportunities: We anticipate that
five (5) cosmological research internships will be
awarded for the ten-week program, approximately June 16 through
August 22, 2003. The stipend for the full ten-week program
will be $4,000. Housing will be provided or subsidized, and
there will be modest travel expense reimbursement. |
Eligibility:
Participants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents who
are enrolled in (but not yet graduated from) an accredited undergraduate
college degree program with a concentration in a math, science,
or engineering field. Female and underrepresented minority candidates
are encouraged.
